What's up everybody. It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be checking out this replacement hardware for the CE Smith Boat Guide-Ons. Today we have. we're gonna use it with the angled ones, but it can work with a few of the different types and it's gonna be a good replacement hardware if something happened to yours or you just not trust it, you wanna go ahead and put new hardware. This is gonna be great.
Let's check it out. We're looking at the hardware kit here on the floor. Now, everything you're gonna see here, you're gonna get quantity of two. So you're gonna be able to replace the hardware on both sides. And that's good because maybe your trailer spent more time in the water, the hardware has been submerged longer than the posts do, so it's looking rough, maybe it's rusty, you don't trust it anymore, You just wanna replace it.
Maybe you got a new trailer, so you transfer 'em over and figured why not put new hardware on there just so you know it lasts. We're ready to set up our side post here. We got our bracket, that's gonna go on the bottom of our trailer rail here, and then this is gonna go in between this arm here. So we're gonna set it up like this. This is how we're gonna attach it to the outside rail right here.
We got U-Bolts that we're gonna use to do that. So I'll get those. I'll try and do this and keep my hands out of the way so you can see what I'm doing. I'm gonna loosely install this because I wanna make sure it's lined up with the other one on the other side that we have installed already. So we're just gonna drop our U-Bolt down and try and get it to go in the proper holes to go across our frame rail right here.
I can see the one on my side. I can't quite see the other side. See how far. looks right there to there, might have to move it back a little bit, it might work out easier. There we go that's in that one. So it looks like I use the longer hole here on this side to get this to line up. That's why there are so many holes in here so it's kind of universal there. So the first U-Bolt I use is just the flat one. The second one we'll use has a bend and the top 'cause it goes over the existing one. So once again, I'll use the slotted hole and line up the other one on the backside now holding it in place and use a washer and a nut and get these hand tightened. Now, the reason we wanna leave it loose is not only to line it up with our other guide on the other side but also to make sure it fits right with the boat. Every boat and trailer's a little bit different, so I suggest leaving this loose maybe install this with the boat on there so you can slide this in or out and see to make sure that it's not too close to the boat. It's got plenty of space so when you do pull the boat up here, it won't make contact. Now that we got it lined up and in the right spot you can go ahead and go back and tighten down those nuts. Now I'm using a 1/2" deep well socket to tighten them all down. I'm just kind of gonna go back and forth to the different ones and try and tighten down evenly. Now we're gonna slide our PVC guide over the rail. You wanna make sure you line up this notch here with this portion, cause that's what's gonna slide it over there, just like that, and hold it in place. Now finally, we're just gonna put the cap on the PVC pipe. That easy. Overall, it's definitely awesome to have that extra hardware to replace, especially if it's old and looking worn down or you're just throwing it on a new trailer. Why not start with new hardware If the posts and the arm are just fine. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out and hope this helps..
I used these to add a third support leg to the CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-On Kit for Boat Trailers. I have a tunnel hill jet boat that is used on some very fast rivers. I have loaded and unloaded the boat with no issues since adding the system on my trailer.

I drove to 6 stores - an auto parts store, wal-mart, lowes, home depot, northern freight and West Marine. Nobody had stainless steel u bolts or brackets to re-attach my boat trailers guide posts. The closest was West Marine, and they only sold entire guide post kits. I just wanted the bracket hardware and ubolts.

The product was as expected. However, The brackets, u-bolts, and uprights were not sufficiently protected from rust. I use my trailer in salt water and all of the parts had to be primed and painted before installation. An up-charge for galvanizing would be acceptable.
Regarding the order, this web site and order processing is the best in the e-mail ordering business. I wish all others would try it and do what etrailer does. You could sell this philosophy.

Great Product. Galvanized bracket a plus since I run in saltwater.
My only beef is that the special clamps are not galvanized.
They still last a long time but when you have to remove them
it can be very difficult. I would rather pay extra for stainless or
galvanized. k

Working fine thanks, just wish entire kit could made available with a heavy galvanized finish since I use it in saltwater. I think you should offer two kits, one salt and one fresh water just my 2 cents. This kit is far superior to the other ones I have used. The special u bolts are great and hold fast.
Couldn't be simpler to order and install for a 60+ female owner of a 13'Whaler and Long trailer.
It does not get any better then this design, fits almost any trailer you have and is as easy as it gets to add or replace. Good quality and good price, helps in keeping the trailer in great shape in the years of service.

These brackets mounted the guide posts more solidly than I expected. I’ll have to see how long they last in salt water since they sent galvanized.

The brackets are not galvanized but haven’t rusted away after one year.

Bought these guide post brackets about a year ago. They were exactly what I needed to add a pair of boat guides to my trailer. After many trips to the boat ramp you can easily see that they still look like new with no corrosion whatsoever. etrailer is terrific at fulfilling and getting all of my orders to me in the fastest way possible.
The boat trailer guide posts were easy to install. I can now very easily launch and retrieve my boat. After one year the product is as good as the day I installed.
Both products shipped fast, was as expected and the little anti-rotate tabs are a great idea. The pipe caps were a plus. This was bought because it is hard to see the trailer, from a Ram 1500, with the gate up when the boat is off and in the water. It was easy to install and locked down without any trouble. With the use of two 5ft pieces of PVC pipe the final cost was a lot better than a complete kit.
If you load boats in rough weather you are going to bend your trailer guide mounting brackets. Its a good idea to have a spare set and not need to buy a complete new guide. the set I got from etrailer is sturdy and will get the job done.
makes for a easy install at a fair price. and all the parts are in the bag. etrailer provides me the combination price, product and last but not least information to make to make the choice and get it done.

Excellent product and the shipping was fast. I looked long and hard to find just the right product to fit my need. My search led me to etrailer.com .
The boat trailer on which I will be placing guide-on bracket kit has served me faithfully for 30 years. I don't think the trailer or my 17 ft. PolarKraft boat will ever wear-out. I know there are many bass and crappie that fear seeing that boat in the water.
This bracket kit will add many more years to my good times in that boat. The kit seems to be made of excellent material.

Still holding together after many uses in saltwater - no rust.
I placed a phone order with Lori B recently. She was extremely helpful in finding the right product for me. I ordered a replacement post-style guide-ons hardware kit and LED tail lights for my boat trailer. She gave me the correct information so I could see them online during our phone conversation. After that, we placed the order. I was expecting shipping to take several days due to the holidays quickly approaching. I used this kit to replace the post guides on my boat trailer. I boat in salt water so the old ones had corroded badly. This Kit made replacing the guides easy and I would recommend them to anyone needing to make repairs to their trailer.
I purchased this hardware for a saltwater trailer that I use frequently because the original brackets corroded away. The hardware package was easy to install and the metal was heavier gauge than the original. Highly recommended for the advertised application.
